Financial Policy
The generosity of individual Christians
and churches helps students receive quality professional training at a cost less
than that charged by many institutions. Hawai`i Theological Seminary strives to
help all students receive the education they desire.
Schedule of Fees and Charges
The following fees became effective on
July 1, 2006. Any revisions approved by the Finance Committee and/or Board of
Regents after that date will be communicated to students prior to the beginning
of each semester or term (in registration materials or by other means of
notification).
Hawai`i Theological Seminary offers a
unique opportunity for students whose churches choose to tithe to Hawaii
Theological Seminary as part of their support of Christian education. Every
student from a One Partnership (OP) church enrolled at the Seminary receives a
50% credit in tuition. This results in tuition that is less than many state
universities. OP tuition is noted below. Please see the separate section on the
One Partnership under Financial Aid for further information.

for veterans. Students eligible for educational assistance should promptly
initiate action with the Veterans Administration to ensure timely processing of
their application. Standards of progress required for students receiving VA
benefits are listed in the Student Handbook.
Tuition Refund Policy For Students
Receiving Veteran?s Benefits
A special refund policy applies to
students enrolled at HTS who are receiving tuition assistance from the Veteran?s
Administration. When a student drops a course or withdraws from school after the
start of the semester, 10 percent of the tuition is retained and the balance of
the tuition will be refunded according to a pro rata of the number of hours of
class not completed. The date of a course drop or withdrawal is determined by
the date the student officially withdraws from class. A copy of the VA refund
schedule is available from the HTS Registrar.
Vocational Rehabilitation
HTS is currently approved by the State
Approving Agency for residents of Hawai`i. State of Hawai`i Vocational
Rehabilitation benefits are available for all degree programs pending appeal of
the November TRACS decision to withdraw membership of HTS, since DVR educational

the Department of Human Services, Vocational Rehabilitation caseworker by whom
the student is supervised. |
